September marks the beginning of a new chapter. It’s a great opportunity for our students and families to find ways to connect with life here at Campolindo. Back in August, parents, teachers, and students helped us start the year at Cougar Day—a day filled with energy and reconnection. Without the support of our community, it would not have been possible. Looking ahead, September offers a time for families to reflect on what’s next—discovering student clubs, balancing academics with co-curriculars and family life, and finding ways to build parent connections.

In my recent conversations with students, I’ve been continually inspired by everything they’re accomplishing—in the classroom, on the field, and throughout our broader community. Our students care deeply about making a positive, lasting impact beyond our campus. Whether advocating for "no idling" in the pick-up line, launching a new finance club that will support other clubs on campus, or mentoring younger teammates, their heart and initiative shine through. It’s because of them that I am proud to lead this school. Please know how deeply our students appreciate your daily encouragement and support. They might not always express it out loud, but as I watch them walk through our hallways, engage in activities, or head home at the end of the day, their gratitude for you is clear.

If your student is looking to get involved, make new friends, give back, or even start a brand-new club, mark your calendars for Club Day on September 11th! With over a hundred academic, affinity, and service clubs available, there’s something for everyone. These student-led groups are a great way to pursue personal passions while bringing our campus closer together.

Throughout this month, our school community is also proud to celebrate Latine and Hispanic Heritage Month. It is a meaningful time to honor the rich histories, vibrant cultures, and enduring contributions of communities with roots in Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. This year’s national theme, "UNIDOS, SOMOS MÁS" / "TOGETHER, WE ARE MORE," highlights the strength and unity within our diverse school community.

Led by our Latinos Unidos group, students will have opportunities to get involved. Following Club Day on September 11th, group officers will begin welcoming new members to the club. For further education on Latine and Hispanic Heritage Month, s  students can also check Canvas for special feature spotlights highlighting Hispanic heroes and trailblazers. To celebrate together, Latinos Unidos and our Student Leadership Team are decorating the main hallway and setting up an interactive map where students can pin their family origins.

Beyond student-led activities, there are also wonderful opportunities for families to get involved. For our parents—whether you are joining the Campolindo family for the first time or preparing to celebrate your senior's final year—Homecoming is a clear opportunity to experience our school spirit firsthand. Each class will host Homecoming Build Days, where students and parents come together to build decorations for their designated hallway. No artistic experience is needed, as it is an "all hands on deck" tradition that brings each class together and builds momentum leading up to our Homecoming game and dance in mid-October.

In addition to parent involvement and vibrant school traditions, one of the aspects I value most about Campolindo is the broad range of opportunities available to our students—from our rigorous AP courses and growing Visual and Performing Arts Program, to resources like the College & Career Center, Peer-to-Peer Tutoring, and Underclassmen Support Programs. We owe much of this to the Moraga Education Foundation (MEF). MEF grants help fund additional class sections, our Wellness Center, and vital support services that keep Campolindo a supportive place for our students.
