CAMPO STUDENT UNION
The Student Union is a peer mediation service offered by students that is dedicated to promoting a campus of belonging and inclusivity. Students can use the Student Union as a resource to repair and/or navigate friendship misunderstandings, resolve conflicts on sports teams or in extracurricular clubs, navigate interactions with teachers and practice self-advocacy, and be an effective upstander when witnessing any incidents of bias on campus. All inquiries and meetings are anonymous – our focus is community building, not disciplinary action. For more information about the Student Union, please visit our page on the Campolindo website. If your student would like to get into contact with the Student Union, please have them fill our Inquiry Form.
CAMPOLINDO WELLNESS CENTER
SEASONAL DEPRESSION With daylight savings fully underway, the Wellness Center wanted to provide some tips for supporting mental health with the change and some information on seasonal depression. While fall is a favorite for some, for others, the change in the amount of sunlight throughout the day can increase depressive symptoms or cause an increase in other negative emotions. The “winter blues” tends to begin around this time with one in five reporting more depressive symptoms or feeling down during late fall and winter months. Some suggestions for supporting mental health during this time include brightening up your spaces, adjusting your sleep schedule, practicing extra self care, spending time with loved ones, and spending time outside in the sun when possible. For more information and some tips for coping with depressive symptoms from the weather, click here for an article.
FENTANYL PRESENTATION Please join the Campolindo Wellness Center on Thursday, November 30 at 5:30pm in the CPAC, for an important presentation and conversation about illicit fentanyl use featuring a family representative from the organization Song with Charlie. Moraga Police Officer Will Davis will also discuss the new Teen Anti-Tobacco/Vaping program and other current adolescent drug trends. TUPE (Tobacco Use Prevention Education) will be available before and after the presentation with information and resources. Visit The New Drug Talk for support with talking to your family about the current drug landscape. Please note: on Friday, December 1, all 12th grade students will receive this information during Academy. Additionally, Wellness and TUPE will be tabling with information and resources for all students at lunch. If you have a Campo student in another grade and would like them to get this information, please feel free to bring them to this evening event.
