This year the event will be hosted by the Acalanes Black Student Union (BSU) in partnership with AHS Leadership Students on Friday, Feb 27, from 7:00pm-9:00pm in the Acalanes High School Big Gym. The theme this year is FEEL THE GLOW (students are encouraged to wear neon colors). Along with black light dancing and an amazing DJ, there will be food, prizes, face paint, glow sticks, a place to hang out with friends, and much more! WELLNESS FAIR IN APRIL This April, Campolindo is excited to host its Wellness Fair—a vibrant, community-centered event focused on supporting student well-being in all its forms. The fair will feature a dynamic mix of local community organizations, student clubs, and wellness-focused resources, including health and crisis support partners such as Contra Costa Crisis Center, Planned Parenthood, Joybound, and the Miles Hall Foundation, alongside student groups like Active Minds, the Red Cross Club, and various cultural and affinity clubs. THE THRIVE LAB - MENTAL TOUGHNESS FOR WHEN THINGS GET INTENSE Campo Wellness Center is excited to offer The Thrive Lab during academy this semester. This hands-on series helps students build mental toughness and learn practical tools to stay grounded, motivated, and resilient when things get intense. COLLEGE ADMISSIONS REMINDERS NEW: DVC + ALL CACCs: REGISTRATION FOR FALL 2026 If your student missed the SBCC or the DVC Registration workshop and is thinking about attending CACC in the Fall, please have them make an appointment with the College and Career Center so we can walk them through the registration process. This is especially important for DVC which has a complicated registration process for first time students. ACCEPTED STUDENT DAYS: Many universities offer an accepted student day to help students make their decisions. As the final decisions are released throughout February and March, be sure to check your portals for announcements about these events to help you make the most informed decision. HOUSING DEPOSITS: Some universities encourage students to put down a housing deposit prior to the May 1 National Decision Day. This can be advantageous in the housing lottery especially at schools where housing is impacted. Check your portals to see if this is the case at your top school, as you wait for remaining admissions decisions to come in. FINANCIAL AID - FAFSA and CADAA:The deadline for FAFSA and CADAA Applications for ALL California public colleges/universities is March 2. For FAFSA, students must be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen with a valid SSN. For all others (undocumented, DACAmented, or a U.S. citizen without an SSN) you should complete the CADAA. WRITE YOUR THANK YOU NOTES TO TEACHERS FOR LORs: If you didn’t get to this over break, we have Thank You cards available in CCC if you would like to come by during lunch or 7th period to write a note of appreciation to the teacher(s) who took time to write you a letter of recommendation.
